*2 years ago today..........*

She took this photo of herself exactly one week before she tragically died...and that quote that she added to her photo will stay with me forever... and as many of you know, every month, because of her I take photos of me and my kids ... for as she put it... they don't care if I am wearing makeup or not...if every hair is in place or not... or if I am a little overweight...they just see Mama....so today I am sharing a lo I made in honor of Aledia ....with a photo of me and my babies that was taken on Mothers Day this year...

I made this using the September ScrapbookCircle.com kit....

I wasn't close to Aledia like others were....but her death hurt me deeply... she was an amazing artist, friend and Mama.... and she also changed my life...and for that I am forever grateful to her.... :)

God Bless Aledia....thank you.........

  16. Beautiful sentiments and layout! It will mean so much to your children that they will have a visual history - at the end of the book Mockingjay, the main character begins to make a book where she records "those things you cannot trust to memory" and each page begins with the person's picture and then "come all the details it would be a crime to forget."
Hope you have a wonderful day!

  18. Julie,

So true and I so believe like Aleida that we must live and create our best lives everyday...we teach our children that everyday is a gift to be enjoyed. Love that layout and more importantly love your love for your children and life everyday. Have a blessed and fun Sunday...it's time for some football and family time for us today. PS- I wanted to talk with you about something. You can text me your cell and I will call you if you have some time later today...if today is not a good day anytime will do. Thanks again for being so positive and uplifting everyday and for making so many feel good about themselves!!

  25. I clearly remember when this happened. I had just found her blog the day of that very post; about taking pictures! Then the second time I came back--I was stunned to hear the news. I was in utter shock and disbelief. I was mouring a stranger, I sat and read in tears--yet she's a sister who I could totally relate too.
I've always taken the time to document my life and as well that of my families. But her post will stick with me! Thanks for the reminder.

    XOXOXO

  28. What a beautiful post to remember an amazing friend. I love the sentiment behind taking the pics with the family....you're right, they don't care that you are not always picture perfect.....they look at you and see mom, wonder woman, that lady that loves you and bakes delicious cookies and can make booboos disapear with just a kiss....that is who they love. Thanks for always reminding us of that Julie!!
