Happy Pawlidays -- and a goodbye to Mr. Dandy

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to share a layout I made with some papers from PhotoPlay's 'MuttCracker' collection :)

If you follow me on social media - you will know that Dandy passed away on November 26th, 2019.  He passed away about 2 weeks after I made this layout.  He was on his nightly walk with Adam, and sadly, another dog attacked Dandy.  The dog punctured and broke his right front leg. The only options we had was to do surgery to place a plate in his leg, amputate, or have him put to sleep.  We did choose to put him to sleep, as he was 19 years old, he had a lot of health problems, and our vet already prepared us last year telling us with his age and problems, he would not survive anesthesia.  Adam is feeling guilty as it happened on his watch - and we are doing our best to let him know that we do not blame him, and it could of happened to any of us while walking Dandy.

Mr. Dandy -- April 6th, 2000 - November 26th, 2019

I miss you baby boy

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  1. This must have been a heartbreaker just to post this, Julie. I am so sad for your loss. Adam, sending you hugs as well. NOT your fault. Just Dandy's time.

  3. I love this layout. What a blessing to have made it before the pain of losing him. I'm sure you're all heartbroken, and I feel so bad for Adam. But I'm so glad you had 19 happy years together.

  5. I'm so sorry to hear about Dandy. I'm not sure how I missed a post about his passing. These fur babies are as much family as our two legged kiddos, and it is heartbreaking to lose one. Give Adam a huge hug, and reassure him that it could have happened when any of you were on watch. Beautiful tribute to your sweetie. Hugs and blessings...

  6. oh my now I am crying... I know the pain of having to say goodbye.. it hurts so much.. I know your Christmas will not be the same without your darling Mr Dandy.. I hope your memories of the good times will give you strength.. it was just a terrible accident.. for me our little Cindy had a cancer on her tummy and she had surgery to remove it but more lumps came back even quicker, so we had to decide more surgery or..... and at 15 it was still a really hard decision.. and I miss her so much.. so I send you my love and sympathy.. So glad you have this beautiful layout as a tribute.. I love the doggie papers and embellishments...xx
