It's a Mickey Mouse Easter :)

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to share a little Easter basket I made for my BFF -- completely upcycled from an old Mickey Mouse stuffed animal :)

So long story short --
1) My BFF is a HUGE Mickey Mouse fan.
2) When she was here in January for my Mom's service, she told me an idea she had that she saw on Pinterest to make a Mickey Mouse Christmas Tree.
3) She needed the right size stuffed Mickey Mouse to accomplish the Christmas tree goal.

So we were at an antique store while she was here in January -- and her and her daughter were in one part of the store, and I was in another part of the store, and I saw what I thought would work for her Mickey Mouse Christmas tree idea.

I took a picture of the Mickey Mouse to text to her (and yes, I left my water bottle by the Mickey Mouse, so she could see the size) -- and she said it was perfect.  I grabbed it to give to her to purchase it when we left the store.

As long as YOU PROMISE not to call the Mickey Mouse police on me, I will tell you the rest of the story -- lol! --- she ONLY needed Mickey's HEAD and FEET for this Christmas tree project ----

Yes, you can guess it!!! I decapitated Mickey Mouse and also cut off his feet before she left town after my mom's service.  You read that right -- I cut off Mickey Mouse's head and feet -- lol -- and after cutting those pieces off, I sewed the head and feet closed, so she could do what she needs to do to make the Mickey Mouse Christmas tree when she got home.

And yes, it was a running joke the rest of the time she was here, that I was going to YOU KNOW WHERE for decapitating Mickey Mouse and cutting off his feet! LOL! And it was even a bigger joke, that she had to take Mickey Mouse's head and feet ONLY back on the airplane and go through TSA .... ummmm try explaining that away! HA! :)

Anyhoo -- so I was left with Mickey Mouse's body, including his white gloved hands, and red shorts.

And I couldn't bring myself to throw it away, figuring I would make something with the iconic hands and shorts for her.

And then it came to me -- make her an Easter basket out of the remaining pieces! :)

I took the shorts and re-sewed his tail to the back of it.

Then I took the arms and sewed them together.

Then I sewed the hands to the side of the shorts.

And now she has a custom Mickey Mouse Easter basket! :)

I found some Mickey Mouse goodies at the store, and added those to her basket.

Here are the goodies I added to the basket :)

And here is the Easter basket I made for her :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)
