Reflecting back on 2018 :)

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to create a post on 2018 -- as a family, we had some highs and lows -- as most people do in their lives.

Adam turned 21 this year, and we were able to take him to Las Vegas to celebrate.

Brian and I celebrated our 10th anniversary, and we renewed our wedding vows while in Las Vegas with the family.

We were able to visit my BFF when she went to Las Vegas in August, and then her and her family followed us back to Arizona for a few extra days of time together.

After a year of recreational volleyball, followed by a year of competitive volleyball, Brookie joined a Club Volleyball team this year! She also helped her school team win a High School Invitational tournament, the School District Championship and helped her competitive YMCA team take the championship!

Our dog Mr. Dandy has slowly been declining health wise, the latest being diagnosed with an eye ulcer that can not be removed by surgery since he is 18 years old.

My Mom passed away on December 19th.  After a lifetime of pain and illnesses, I know she is finally pain free and at peace.

Crafty wise, I created a ton this year! I didn't share EVERYTHING I made, as I was more focused on making VS. sharing, but I kept every paper strip from the bottom of every paper I used, and I almost filled a 4th coffee cup with the papers I used this year! Progress people, PROGRESS!!! :)

Here is all the papers I used up this year :)

I also wanted to share some of my fave projects I made this year :)

From January :)

From February :)

From March :)

From April :)

From May (a T-shirt quilt for my friend's husband) :)

From June :)

From July :)

From August (I made a denim quilt from Adam's old jeans -- I also entered this in the Arizona State Fair, and won a 1st place ribbon for it!) :)

From September  (I made a matching denim pillow from Adam's old jeans to match his quilt.  This was also entered into the Arizona State Fair, and won a 3rd place ribbon!) :)

From October :)

From November (a collaboration between myself and Brian's best friend -- he created the "fireplace" from wood for me, and I decorated it to create Santa coming down the chimney!) :)

From December :)

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year!!! xoxo :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

Hey Mr. Snowman! :)

Hi everyone! :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!! I want to also thank you that left me a comment on my last post -- I truly appreciate it. <3 nbsp="" p="">

We had a Christmas ornament exchange at work, and OF COURSE I couldn't go and BUY ornaments, you know I had to MAKE them, right?!!??!  Cause I have nothing better to do than add more to my plate! LOL!!!! :)

I took some wood slices I had, some wine corks, some ribbons and some bottle brush Christmas trees-- add in some Snow-Tec and I made these :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

Oh Christmas Tree ... and goodbye Mom ....

Hi everyone!! :)

Before I share anything creative, I wanted to share that my mom passed away on the 19th (Wednesday).  I did post this on social media, so those that follow me on those venues might have already seen this news, but I know not everyone goes on social media, so I wanted to share it here too.

And for those that have left me a comment on Facebook about this -- please know that I have been trying to thank each one of you individually, however, Facebook has blocked me from leaving anymore comments -- hopefully they will lift that ban soon.. stupid Facebook ...

She was in Hospice since this past Saturday, and she became an angel on Wednesday.

Love you Mom, always

Brian's cousin gave me some old bottle caps and I wanted to share what I created with some of them :)

I started off with these --

A 12x12 wood plaque :)

And bottle caps from Brian's cousin :)

I painted some of the bottle caps green, left some plain, and then painted some brown -- then I grabbed a 12x12 paper from Carta Bella and created this :)

I also added some wooden snowflakes and metal pine cones I got from my LSS "Scraps of Love" :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

Santa is Here!!!

Hi everyone! :)

Last year, Brian's cousin gave me this wine gift bag he got in a gift exchange from work. He always saves me things cause he knows I will make something out of them! I LOVE that about him!! :)

The wine gift bag looked like Santa's pants -- and I had this idea in my head to make it look like Santa was coming down the chimney ... and at first I was thinking about different cardboard boxes I could transform into a "fireplace" -- and every option was not good -- the #1 reason being that if I made it from cardboard, over the years it could crumble from being stored in the garage during the "off" Christmas season ....

So then it HAPPENED ...... Brookie's cookie sale from her school fundraiser came in and the boxes they came in ... were the PERFECT size and shape that I had in my head for the "fireplace" ....

BUT ... it was still cardboard -- so I had Brian take this photo to send to his friend to see if he could make me something in WOOD in the shape of the box!! :)

Here is the Santa "legs" and the cardboard box from Brookie's cookie sale --

And here is the WOOD  fireplace version Brian's friend made for me!!! :)

I also wanted to make a "tile" section for the front of the 'fireplace' ... so I took some dominoes and alcohol inks to create that :)

Here are the 'tiles' after being inked :)

And here is my 'fireplace' after adhering Authentique paper to it :)  I wanted it to look like a brick fireplace :)

And here it is all done! :)

I found the little felt stockings at Walmart (4 of them for 98 cents!!!) :)

The tree and 'lights' I had in my stash from an earlier project and the wreaths I found at Target :)

The little bag I also found at Target and stuffed it with stuffing I used from the pillows I make :)

I adhered the 'tiles' to a heavy duty cardboard piece to lay in front of the fireplace :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)
