Beginnings are Scary -- featuring Elle's Studio :)

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to share a layout I made for the latest challenge at Challenge YOUrself :)

This time they wanted us to use our fave quote -- and I knew right away I had to play along and the quote I used was from the movie Hope Floats (one of my all time fave movies!!!). In fact I love this quote so much, this is probably the 5th or 6th time I have used it on a project :) And -- I even have this quote listed in one of my header tabs on this page!!  Right HERE :)

I used Elle's Studio "Family Fun" collection on my page :)

Here is the quote in full :)

Childhood is what you spend the rest of your life trying to overcome. That's what momma always says. She says that beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up.

Holiday tags -- featuring Simon Says Stamp :)

Hi everyone! :)

I was following along with Tracey's 25 days of Christmas tags, and on DAY ONE she shared creations from Simon Says Stamp -- and I just fell IN LOVE with the Nutcracker tag from Mandy, so I just HAD to get it! LOL!! :)

So that is what I created my holiday gift tags with :)

I am trying to get better at my blending :)

Love and Peace to You -- featuring Elle's Studio :)

Hi everyone! :)

If you are like me, you are in FULL Holiday mode right now!!! I am making Christmas gifts this year (again!), Christmas tags (again!), and Christmas cards (again!) -- but I haven't been able to play along with any challenges in a LONG time, and I was intrigued by two recently, so I took some 'me' time and made something for these challenges :)

The challenges I am playing along with is "Challenge YOUrself" and "City Crafter Challenge" :)

Challenge YOUrself was to use sprays/inks on your project -- I drew a peace symbol on white cardstock, and then took one of my Mr. Huey's mists and 'painted' over my drawn peace symbol :)

City Crafter Challenge was all about PEACE and LOVE -- and to use at least one of these words on your project :)  Welllllll... if you have known me for awhile, you will know that I am IN LOVE with peace symbols :)  I have them EVERYWHERE in my house, in my craft room, on my clothes -- etc etc etc ... and if you LOOK at my signature at the end of my posts, you will see the AWESOME "PEACE AND LOVE" symbol that Maggie made for me YEARS ago from a photo of one of Brookie's t-shirts when she was a toddler (YES! the "PEACE AND LOVE" symbol in my signature is a photo of Brookie's shirt she had when she was younger!) :)

I used some older Elle's Studio papers on my page :)

Day of the Dead :)

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to share some wood plaques that I made for Brookie and my Mother-in-law :)  Their birthdays are one day apart, and Brookie asked for Day of the Dead decorations for their birthday dinner.  So I thought I would make them each a little plaque for them to remember the day using some of the goodies from their celebration :)

I first took two napkins from their birthday dinner and decoupaged them to the wood plaques I bought at my local craft store :)

Then if you look closely at the photo, you will see little Day of the Dead cupcake stick toppers in their pumpkin muffins, and after I took the sticks off of some of them, I used them on here :)

I also added some flowers that I found at my local craft store :)
