U are -- featuring Maya Road :)

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to share a layout I made for the latest challenge at The Studio :)

They had an inspiration piece for their latest challenge, and I was inspired by the colors and the 'woodsy' feel to it :)

I used lots of different manufacturers on here -- Chic Tags, Simple Stories, MME, Pretty Little Studios, Maya Road, Petaloo and Echo Park :)

And here is their inspiration piece for the challenge :)

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year! :)

We do not need magic to transform our world ... :)

Hi everyone! :)

Happy almost Christmas! :)

I wanted to share a gift I made for Brookie (don't tell her! It's for Christmas!) :)

She saw this quote from JK Rowling at a craft fair -- and the vendor that was selling it was a little high priced for me, so I decided to make one for her instead :)

The actual quote from JK Rowling is this ...

"We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power we need inside ourselves already."

But since I was pressed for space -- I shortened it just a little bit *wink* :)

I had this piece of wood left over from my trunk redo -- and I chose a alphabet stencil I thought I was a good fit for the creator of Harry Potter :)

From sweater to pillows :)

Hi everyone :)

On Thanksgiving, my brother had brought a sweater on a hanger to my house and said that he had cleaned out his closet and it was a sweater that our Dad had loaned him AGES ago and it was from when our Dad was in college! :)

So needless to say my Dad didn't want/need the sweater back -- so of course that translated into ME wanting it to make a couple of pillows from the material ....

Here is the sweater :)

And here are the pillows I made from it :)

I bought a yard of cheap fabric for the backing :)

A tip for you, in case you ever want to take this on :)

Since sweaters are usually a KNIT fabric and that means they STRETCH when trying to sew on them -- I suggest buying/using a fusible interfacing that you iron on to the back side of the sweater material to make it 'stiffer' and able to sew on without it moving :)

Coffee, anyone? -- featuring Fancy Pants and Die-namics :)

Hi everyone :)

I wanted to share some little gift card holders I made for me and Brian's bosses along with Brookie's teachers :)

I took some Altoid tins to make these :)

I used Fancy Pants papers, along with some Elle's Studio papers and made little coffee cups with a die from Die-Namics :)  Then I added a poinsettia from Petaloo, chipboard snowflakes from Maya Road and topped those off with some clear Skittles from Carri :)

Each tin is holding a gift card from Starbucks :)
