You're Only Limited by Your Imagination -- featuring American Crafts :)

Hi everyone :)

Our latest sketch challenge is live over at The Memory Nest and I wanted to share my take on it :)

I used American Crafts "Star Shine" collection :)

And here is our sketch :)

And I wanted to share something real quick :)  As some of you that have followed me for awhile, you will know that Brookie was born with "Port Wine Stains" on about 30% of her body -- she has had 17 laser surgeries to help remove the 'stains' from her body -- as this skin condition can cause Glaucoma, and sometimes blindness.

Every year her hospital hosts a picnic for their 'laser kids' (these are what they call the kids that undergo this surgery) -- and it's always a great place to meet other families that are going through what you are.

Her surgeon, Dr. Hanson retired a couple of years ago, but he was at the picnic this past Saturday and Brookie was so happy to see him! :)

When she was 'little' ... she couldn't say his name right, so she used to call him "Dr. Handsome" ... lol :)

Here are some pics from this years picnic :)

Brian and her played some football and soccer,  one of the clowns there made her a flower from balloons, we rode the train around the park, she had 'Happy Halloween' drawn on her arm from one of the clowns -- and of course, her and Dr. 'Handsome' ;)

And sad news to share -- our crafty community is small in size, but large in heart -- and I learned Saturday evening that a fellow crafter tragically passed away in a house fire -- for those that remember Ellen Sosnoski from Core'dinations -- she will be remembered for her beautiful smile and always being amazing and talented.  I was fortunate enough to meet her many times while attending the CHA show in Anaheim and she always had a ready smile for me, and her quick wit always made me laugh ... RIP my friend  :(

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

Your layout is so fabulous ...the circles and geometric patterns on your layout are simply fabulous ....have I ever told you you make the best layouts ever Julie!! You always choose such perfect papers and embellishments for your photos and looking at them I always feel that for you the photo and its story is important not the products you use!! 10. I think I can agree with what the others above me have said.... what a happy and sad post, all at the same time. I absolutely adore your layout. You totally nailed that sketch, and I adore the papers you used with all the geometric prints. And then the big swirl at the top takes your eye right around again. Love the photo and all the little goodies you added. And love seeing all those happy photos from the annual picnic with Dr. Handsome. But omgoodness, I've been so shocked and saddened to hear about Ellen. She and I were on the Webster's Pages team together many years ago, and she was such a sweet, talented, fun, and amazing person. Thank you for sharing your lovely tribute!
