In One Word: Fantastic --featuring MME :)

Hi everyone :)

I wanted to share a layout I made for the latest "The Studio" challenge -- which is a 'tic-tac-toe' challenge :)

I used the far right side of the board -- which is Flair, Punches and Twine :)

I used a LOT of stash on this! I used MME's "Bright Side" collection, some twine from Target, some Flair from "Feed Your Craft" and some wood clouds from Chic Tags .... ohhhhhh and those journal stickers, they are from SIStv, for those that remember that site *wink* :)

The punch I used created the hearts -- the twine was used as a frame around the photos and the flair is along the middle :)

Here is the board for their challenge :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

You're Only Limited by Your Imagination -- featuring American Crafts :)

Hi everyone :)

Our latest sketch challenge is live over at The Memory Nest and I wanted to share my take on it :)

I used American Crafts "Star Shine" collection :)

And here is our sketch :)

And I wanted to share something real quick :)  As some of you that have followed me for awhile, you will know that Brookie was born with "Port Wine Stains" on about 30% of her body -- she has had 17 laser surgeries to help remove the 'stains' from her body -- as this skin condition can cause Glaucoma, and sometimes blindness.

Every year her hospital hosts a picnic for their 'laser kids' (these are what they call the kids that undergo this surgery) -- and it's always a great place to meet other families that are going through what you are.

Her surgeon, Dr. Hanson retired a couple of years ago, but he was at the picnic this past Saturday and Brookie was so happy to see him! :)

When she was 'little' ... she couldn't say his name right, so she used to call him "Dr. Handsome" ... lol :)

Here are some pics from this years picnic :)

Brian and her played some football and soccer,  one of the clowns there made her a flower from balloons, we rode the train around the park, she had 'Happy Halloween' drawn on her arm from one of the clowns -- and of course, her and Dr. 'Handsome' ;)

And sad news to share -- our crafty community is small in size, but large in heart -- and I learned Saturday evening that a fellow crafter tragically passed away in a house fire -- for those that remember Ellen Sosnoski from Core'dinations -- she will be remembered for her beautiful smile and always being amazing and talented.  I was fortunate enough to meet her many times while attending the CHA show in Anaheim and she always had a ready smile for me, and her quick wit always made me laugh ... RIP my friend  :(

Jingle All The Way :)

Hi everyone :)

It's been wayyyyyyyyyy too long since I played along with my old teamies over at Lessology and this month's challenge really called to me :)

They wanted us to include music notes in our project :)

I started out with some wood blocks I had from my local scrapbook store -- I painted them red and green -- then I used some alpha stencils to spell out 'Jingle' -- then used some old Scrabble tiles to spell out 'All The Way' ... added a little Pretty Little Studios Santa, a Tim Holtz 'Jingle' tag, and some Fancy Pants trees to decorate them with -- and finished it off with some 'SnowTex' fake snow :)

And the music notes -- are the vintage music paper I added to the sides of each block :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

Rocking the #PhelpsFace -- featuring Simple Stories :)

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a layout I made using the "Life Documented" and "So Fancy" collections from Simple Stories :)

I made this using the latest challenge from "The Studio" which is a sketch -- and I flipped the sketch upside down to work with my photo :)

Sooooooooo -- if you don't know the story of #PhelpsFace -- you can read about it here -- being a HUGE Michael Phelps fan -- I think the stories are pretty funny -- and can't believe the media made such a big deal about his 'game face' :)

And here is their sketch I used

#LiveOutLoud -- featuring Simple Stories :)

Hi everyone :)

I wanted to share a layout I made this past weekend with the "We Are Family" collection from Simple Stories :)

And funny story -- when I posted this photo on Instagram and Facebook yesterday, I had a couple of people comment that they thought this was ME(!) -- when it's actually Brookie! LOL! :)

And speaking of the Out Of Africa park we visited on Saturday,  I wanted to share some of the photos from our day there :)

Brookie got to feed a giraffe :)

Then another giraffe decided to help himself to the tour guides 'cookies' ... lol :)

And of course this guy was begging for some treats too :)

Our guide got out to give the ostrich's some treats too, and you can see they want her to FEED them instead of educating us ;)

This guy wanted to come on board with us ;)

This park employee stopped and gave this Jaguar a little treat or two :)

In the Jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight ;)

This guy reminds me of the swamp monsters in "The Princess Bride" :)

"I hate snakes" ;)

We went to the "Tiger Splash" show at the park -- completely unscripted -- just totally the park employees "playing" with "Chalet" the white tiger -- you can see her in the background behind Brookie :)

And look!! I was there too! :)

Here is Chalet playing with a garbage bag full of balloons :)

Tempting her with another toy :)

And another toy :)

And this was the funniest part -- Chalet had a 'toy' at the end of a rope in her teeth -- and 2 of the park employees in there were playing tug-of-war with her at one end, while another employee went to her backside and 'played' tug-of-war with her tail! LOL! :)

And another toy to tempt Chalet :)

And another toy :)

And another -- Chalet LOVES to play :)

Then we had gotten a ticket at admission for Brookie to feed Chalet after the show ....

But since the line for Chalet was SO long, they split the group in two and we headed over for her to feed this guy instead :)

And then we saw the Hyena show -- see how they are smiling?!?!? That was actually them LAUGHING like you have heard about Hyena's actually doing -- it was so CUTE!!! :)

All in all -- it was a great day -- and we can't wait to go back there :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)
