One Last Time -- featuring Glitz Designs :)

Hi all :)

Happy Mama's Day!!!!!!  :)

I was able to make a quick layout this AM for the latest sketch at Let's Capture Our Memories :)

I used Glitz Designs "Sunshine in my Soul" papers on my layout :)

And here is their sketch :)

And if you read the journaling above -- then you will have guessed that yesterday we (as a family) went to Tombstone, Arizona for a quick day trip -- If you have followed me for awhile, you will know that as a family, we take a LOT of day trips/road trips in Arizona, just to have fun together as a family and to explore different places ....

Well ... yesterday was our last road trip with Adam -- he is graduating in two weeks -- and will be moving to Texas with his Dad afterwards to work on an oil rig for two years before joining the Army.  So ... yesterday was quite bittersweet :)

I wanted to share some photos of our little trip to Tombstone. Arizona :)

Adam's drink choice at lunch Sarsaparilla :)

Adam being a goof :)

No ... they aren't filled with people! LOL! :)

Obviously Brookie was more enthused about this photo op than Adam above ... lol :)

Cowboy humor!  LOL! :)

A model reenactment of the shootout at the O.K. Corral :)

Real actors giving us a little "play" of the shootout at the O.K. Corral :)

Brookie and Adam posing with the actors that played the Earp's and Doc Holliday :)

A baby donkey and his Mama ... :)

Having a little meal from his Mama's milk :)

A visit to the "Tombstone Epitaph" :)

Look at all those Printers Trays *sigh* :)

More Printers Trays :)

Adam getting ready to shoot some Six-Shooter (real) guns with paint ball bullets :)

And his targets :)

And because Brian is OBSESSED with Frozen Yogurt ... of course we had to stop at this little shop and get some ... lol :)

And this street sign soooooooo reminded me of Stuart Smalley's famous quote from Saturday Night Live ... lol ... "I'm Good Enough, I'm Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like Me!" .... ha!! The simple ways I amuse myself :)

On the way home we stopped in Tucson, Arizona for dinner at a little Mexican restaurant we went to last year ... and ironically, we sat in the SAME table they placed us at last year! HA! :)

So ... still busy ... still trying to get Adam's upcoming graduation stuff done, him packed up to move with to his Dad's in Texas, remodeling and enjoying the time we have left with him :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  2. Great photos! That looks like such a fun place. Don't say you'll NEVER get an old-timey photo of the kids together again. It would be totally cool to do one together right before Brooke's graduation.

  4. I don't know why I just feel sad when I am reading this post, I guess I feel for you that Adam is moving to Texas, you know we kind of see each other kids grow in the blogland, we have seen their baby pictures, we have read about their schools and then graduation, I even fortunate to met them in person once in Vegas, so it is like no, Adam is moving to stay with his dad, sigh.....
Well, my friends, our kids all grown and they will be on their way to their new path, just the same as when my girls went to college, we want the best for them and on their new journey, but they will always be ours little babies, happy mother's day my friend!
    Lovely layout!

  5. Oh, I think Kristy V has said it perfectly....I felt the same. It is so hard to let go..... but good on you for doing that.......& when you seen him next, he really will be his own person. A man. I guess it will be difficult for Brooke too - she's used to him always being there. Thank GOODNESS for modern communications....makes it soooo much easier! Great photos here. LOVELY LO....nice to have this one....& I bet, 10 years from now, you'll make it out here again....& maybe have another photo of them both taken. Now, that would be FUN!!!

I know my boys are to young yet for me to stress over them leaving home but my heart is with you on your son doing his next journey. Your photos are just beautiful and filled with love. Thank you so much for sharing them with your layout, I loved looking at them. What a beautiful family...... Now for your layout. Love your take on the sketch, the colours are great and the photo is perfect. Thanks for joining in at Let's Capture Our Memories.

  10. Firstly... Fabulous layout! Great photo, and love the papers you have used.. And loved looking at the photos. I have not been to America, but used to love watching the western movies when I was young, and those photos look just like the scenes in the movies.. Precious photos, knowing your son is off to a new chapter in his life. You will miss him, but it is good he has a job to go to. Life is full of new chapters and journeys!

  12. My throat kinda constricted reading your post..... I know it's a proud moment when your kiddos grow up, graduate, and move on to the next stage in life.... but I also know how hard that is on a momma! You've done an amazing job raising him, and he is an outstanding young man! So glad you are soaking up every moment right now. Your day trip looks like a ton of fun, and I LOVE seeing all the pictures! And LOVE your layout, too!
