Octopus -- and the best compliment EVER :)

Hi everyone :)

Recently Audrey sent me the "Never Been Stitched" book ... I loved all the projects in there and decided to make a stuffed Octopus for Brian's baby cousin for Christmas :)

I altered my plans just a bit -- as the instructions said to use a 3 inch Styrofoam ball for the head -- but knowing this was going to an almost 1 year old -- I changed that to actually stuffing from the craft store -- I also used a fleece blanket I picked up at Wal-Mart instead of actual fleece material (hmmmmm ... $2.88 for the whole blanket, or $4.97 a yard for fabric ... let me think about that! LOL!!) ...

So here is what I made :)

And the BEST.COMPLIMENT.EVER. ??????

Brian and Adam came home the day I made this -- saw it sitting on the table, and asked me where I bought it!!!!!!!

I said,  "I made that"  :)

They were impressed!! They seriously thought I had gone to the store and bought it ...

talk about best.compliment.ever. :) :) :)

And here is Brian's little cousin with it on Christmas Eve ... (along with his ball and my mom's foot.... lol!!) :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  4. so cute! That same thing happened to me with a couple of keychains I made for my mom and sister for Christmas...Lucas said "where did you get those?" I told him I made them and he said WOW...they look so good. Although, in my case he kind of sounded surprised I could make something that looked good?!?!

  34. This is PRECIOUS, and yes, that was a really great compliment to receive. :) I thought the octopus was smaller, until I saw it next to the little guy. It's as big as he is! (not for long, tho, with the way they grow)
