It all started on the playground :)

Hi everyone!! :)

A couple of months ago, Brookie came home with her T-shirt torn at the sleeve ...

Her teacher sent a note home saying that it had gotten caught up in the swing set on the playground :(

Welllllll this shirt was just to cute for me to just toss in the trash ... so it went into Mama's (that's me!) "to be altered" basket :)

Well -- this past Thursday .. that "to be altered" shirt came to life :)

Here is what the shirt looked like after the "swing set incident" :)

You can see the left sleeve is all torn up :(

And here it is after I turned it into a pillow :)

And the back :)

And I think she likes it :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  3. Hey Julie! You did an amazing job altering this shirt!!!! I love that you made it so the pillow can slip inside as apposed to the way I made them, instead of just washing the cover I have to wash the whole thing! lol... What is funny is I have the exact same material (backside) on one of my pillows!!! I bet Brookie just loves it!!!! Great sewing!!!! hugs

  13. What a brilliant idea! It's so adorable and I'm sure Brookie will treasure it. The exact same thing happened to my daughter's new TinkerBell shirt when she was 5, unfortunately I never thought to upcycle it.

  40. This is a great altered project. It's so much cuter than the shirt even was. I thought to myself Brookie will love this. Then I saw the last photo of her hugging it and knew I was right. Well done Julie.
