1 plus 1 plus 1 equals my heart :)

Hi everyone! :)

I didn't get to do my alphabet stash challenge this weekend as I had some guest designer projects to make ... but I did get to play along with some challenges!! :)

The first one I am sharing is for Frosted Designs ... their challenge was to use NUMBERS on your project :)

I used Artful Delight's September kit on my layout :)

And the next challenge I played along with was the latest sketch challenge for C'est Magnifique!! :)

Here is their sketch :)

And here is my take on it :)

I used lots and lots of old Prima goodies on here :)

Also Our Beautiful World posted their latest photo challenge yesterday and that was to share what September means to you .... For me, September is a time to honor Aleida Franklin who passed away on September 12th, 2008 and gave me an amazing gift, by pushing me to take photos with my babies every month .... and it also a time for me and the family to honor those who lost their lives on 09/11 ....

So the first photo I am going to share is the very FIRST photo I took with my babies after Aleida passed away ...  and I have done one every month since...

And the second "September" photos I am going to share is the Tempe Town Lake 09/11 Memorial that the family I have been attending for the past few years ...

This is one powerful memorial ... dozens of volunteers place a FULL size flag for every victim from 09/11 .... it is so SURREAL to see that MANY flags in one park ... it really really really shows you how many people we lost that fateful Tuesday morning ....

This first photo from last year's memorial doesn't even show you ALL the flags ... my camera isn't big enough to see the entire park full of flags that represent a victim .....

Each flag has a place card that tells a victim's name, where they were (Pennsylvania, Twin Towers, the planes themselves, The Pentagon, Fire Fighter, NYPD), how old they were and it also tells a story about each one of  their lives ....

Sadly many children died that day too ... for each child that was lost on 09/11 - they add a little teddy bear at the base of their flag ...

Brookie pausing to listen to the man at the top of the stairs playing Taps ...

We will be going to this years Memorial also ....

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  50. You did amazing, holding on to the tradition of capturing your children's photos ever since :). This is one moving tribute for Sept 11, I', in awe seeing all those flags alone. I had a chance to visit the small, Sept 11 Memorial in NYC (years before the current one was completed), and I saw the many displays in glass wall and boxes. My heart sank when I saw this ruined white teddy bear, covered in dust & grime belong to a child who died that day.

Thank you for sharing this tribute for all the fallen angels with us at OBW this week, Julie :). Hugs.
