Let's Get Trendy 3! -- Day Five -- Textured Layers :)

Hi everyone!

Today is DAY FIVE (and our last day! Boo!!)  of our 3rd installment of Let's Get Trendy

Today is all about TEXTURED LAYERS!!! :)

Not everyone is comfortable with textured layers… but they are HOT right now! Adding mixed media textures to your pages is what’s “IN” right now, but not of us is comfortable using Gesso, Masks, Stencils etc. (raising hand… ME!! Lol!) … so another way to add textured layers to your pages is FABRIC!!

For my layout, I grabbed three pieces of vintage fabric I had in my stash and just cut them whichever way the scissors flew! LOL! I then sewed them onto my layout, but again, I didn’t pay attention to see if the fabric was going to come out ‘perfect’ – I just went with the flow of my sewing machine … I figured if I was adding texture, it didn’t need to be perfectly fit straight lines!

Another way to add texture is use embellishments that have texture to them.  I had some older frames in my stash that I used on my photos, and they add a TON of texture without even trying!

To get tips on how I put this together and see tips from our other designers and guests ... make sure to visit the Let's Get Trendy 3! blog!!! And remember, we are having LOTS of prizes when you participate with us!! :)

Hope you all have enjoyed our posts this week ... and I hope we have inspired you all to create with Let's Get Trendy 3! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)
