She made me believe :)

Hi everyone :)

Happy memorial day ... let's remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom

This morning I had a little extra time to make a few layouts that I wanted to share :)

The first one was for the latest Chic Tags challenge which was to use washi tape on your page :)

I used lots of Bella Blvd and Chic Tags on here :)

Here is the story -- My Mom's birthday is today - we celebrated yesterday -- she had ONE request ... she wanted a handmade chocolate cake with white frosting for her birthday dinner :)  I thought ... I am an OKAY baker ... I can do this ... well, then I decided I wanted to make a layered cake ...

*sigh* that's when it all went south ...

The cakes were an epic fail ... oh I baked them okay .... but then I tried to get them out of the pan to "layer" them -- and they fell apart ... like BAD fell apart ... total EPIC FAIL!!

In comes my Brookie ..... "It's ok Mama, they still will be good, they will still look beautiful, no one will be mad at you, because you did your best. No one will be mad at you because you tried your best. They will still taste yummy.  They are beautiful Mama. Don't worry, you did your best."

*sigh* how did I deserve such an amazing daughter?  She totally made me feel better and made me believe that the cake was beautiful ... even though it looked like a hot mess :)  It was her idea to add the sprinkles and the strawberries too to help "hide" the parts that were bothering me :) LOL!! :)

And PS ... everyone loved the cake :)

My next layout is for the latest Let's Get Sketchy challenge :)

I used some Pink Paislee and Chic Tags on here :)

I added the chevron bag to my layout to include Brookie's report card for the year, her nameplate from her desk and also a photo CD that the teacher put together of the school year :)

And the last layout I have to share is a just because layout :)

Cindy inspired this layout ... as she has done some Then & Now layouts of her son :)

So Saturday we were in one of our FAVE road trip places Prescott, AZ.  :)  I remembered I had taken a photo of Adam on the court house steps back in 2004 and I wanted to get another shot of him on the same steps :)  So on Saturday ... I got a photo of him on the same steps :)

I used some 7gypsies, Crate Paper and Chic Tags on my layout :)

And Happy Birthday to my Mama ... here is her and Brookie blowing the candles out on her cake last night :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)
