J...B...B...A :)

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to share a canvas I made this weekend :)

I found the letters on clearance at Michael's -- and then I used some Bella Blvd. goodies on here -- the Sand and Surf collection, the Sunshine and Happiness collection, and Bella Blvd's Feathers, Buttons and Designer Tapes :)

And in case you can't figure it out ... the J B B A stands for Julie, Brian, Brooke and Adam :)

And *phew* we had another busy weekend :)

Friday night was the NJROTC award ceremony at Adam's school :)  He received his new ranking for next year :)

And on Saturday, Brookie got all dressed up to go to a fashion show with both her Nana's at a local church :)  She looks like she was gonna be in the show, right?!?!? LOL :)

And while she was at the Fashion Show with the Nana's -- Brian, Adam and I went see the movie "42" -- wow wow wow ... it was amazing!! I can't even imagine what Jackie Robinson went through during that time ... *sigh*

And then Saturday night -- we all went to a carnival at a local church :)

Before we let the kids loose ... I took my monthly photo with my kids in honor of Aleida Franklin :)

Brookie and Adam trying to win prizes :)

This is the Super Slide -- Adam took Brookie up on this one like SIX TIMES!! Lol!! Brookie couldn't get enough on this ride :)

And then much to my dismay -- Brookie and Adam went on this ride!! YIKES!!! I am so afraid of HEIGHTS ... so it was HARD for me to watch them on this ride ... they are in the purple one at the top!!! YIKES again!! :)

And last but NOT least -- something EXCITING is coming to the GCD BLOG next week!!!!!
Can't wait for this one ... you guys are gonna LOVE it!! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

The "Tini" Original :)

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to share a layout that I made for the latest Chic Tags challenge :)

This time they wanted us to be inspired by this quilt :)

And here is my take on it :)

I used my sewing machine to make the triangle banner around the edges :)

I used Echo Park's For the Record 2 collection and Chic Tags :)

Brookie's nickname is "Tini"  -- believe it or not it comes from a TV show that Brian and I watched when we were up for her midnight, 1AM, 2AM, 3AM feedings when she was an infant -- the show was "Hogan knows Best" -- and it was a reality show about Hulk Hogan (don't judge! LOL!!) and his family ... well his daughter's name was Brooke ... and he always called her "Brooke-Tini" --- so we started calling Brookie that and it stuck :)

So when we went to Yogurtini the other night for a school fundraiser -- Brookie was excited to see her nickname on the menu :)

And when I was done with this layout I made this card with the leftovers of my layout -- plus the Happy Birthday tag is from Chic Tags :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

"Scrapped" and "Scrapbook of Secrets" ~~ Mollie Cox Bryan

Hi everyone!! :)

It's not everyday that I talk about books on my bloggy (well... ok I never do!!) -- you all know primarily my passion on my blog is my scrapbooking -- but what you may NOT know about me is I am an AVID READER! :) I love to read :)

I have a ton of genres I like to read. Romance, Mystery, etc.  I am a huge Patricia Cornwell fan (even got to meet her at a book signing once ... dream come true!!), and thanks to bloggy friends Sheree and Staci -- I have also gotten hooked on Kristan Higgins and Jill Shalvis -- and thanks to my Mom I am now hooked on Nicholas Sparks (if he would ONLY make me stop bawling in EVERY book of his I read -- just saying! lol! -- but I have to admit, and don't hate on me Nicholas Sparks fans, I did NOT like "The Notebook" -- that is all, end of discussion on that one! ha!)

Anyhoo, so I am an avid reader :)

So I was walking though Barnes and Noble a couple of months ago, I come across a book with the title of "Scrapbook of Secrets" - WHOA!!!  A book about scrappers?!!??  And not just a designing type book that I have seen in the past???

So I read the synopsis -- not only is the book about scrapbookers, it's a MYSTERY too!!! Score!!! :)

I saw that this was book 2 of a series, but I couldn't find the first one at B&N, so I just bought it, because how could I pass it up??  :)

As you can see by the cover, the author of these books is  Mollie Cox Bryan -- and as soon as I got home I dove into "Scrapbook of Secrets" -- and I have to say, I LOVED IT!! :)

It was really fun, great flow to the whole book, and I loved that scrapbooking was involved through the entire book!! :)

And as soon as I finished it, I went onto my Kindle and bought "Scrapped" - and I LOVED that one too!

These books were great! I just loved the characters, the story lines, the scrapping in it! :)  One thing that I really loved about Mollie's books was at the end of the book she includes a glossary of scrapbook terms for those that might read these books and aren't scrappers, they will have all the 'scrappy' terms in the back :)

So if any of my friends out there are scrappers and readers too -- I truly recommend both of these books! :)

The opinions on these books are my own, I wasn't asked to write them, nor was I compensated for writing them, I just am sharing another side to myself with my bloggy friends! :)

Make sure to check out Mollie's site :)

And before I head out -- I want to share a couple of cards that I have made for some co-workers :)

Used some Fancy Pants from my stash :) -- still on a de-stashing mode this year :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)
