Take two? AKA - I am a glutton for punishment :)

Hi everyone!! :)

Sooooooo last year, for the first time, I made a December Daily and it was an EPIC FAIL :) I pre-made it with Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium collection and I finished my December Daily album, but I did not like it in the end -- and I didn't think that I would ever do it again :)

Soooooo fast forward to this year -- I decided to make one again -- but this time I made some changes :)

Last year -- my album was only 6x6 inches in size -- that left me no room to really add photos/journaling

This year -- my album is 8x10 inches -- much easier to add photos/journaling

Last year -- I used Graphic 45's papers for my whole album -- and as much I as LOVE G45's papers -- I realized that it didn't leave me a lot of room to add anything as I didn't want to 'cover' up the G45 designs

This year -- I used G45 papers, Crate papers, Authentique papers and Pink Paislee papers -- so even though I used G45 papers again this year, I concentrated on using their less 'busy' papers so I won't hesitate to cover it up with a photo (or two!) -- I think using a mix of manufacturers will help me with getting through the December Daily this year :)

Last Year -- I didn't leave myself any room to journal, so by the time I added photos, I struggled with finding a place to add the journaling

This year -- For my pre-made December Daily album, I only added the number for the day of the month and a journal tag -- so this year I hope it will help me add more photos/embellishments :)

Last Year -- We had A LOT going on -- our trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my 40th birthday, Brookie had surgery, we just DID a lot -- so I think that made it MORE stressful for me to keep up

This Year -- So far we don't have a lot planned (YET! lol!!!) -- I know we will have at least one Christmas party to go to -- but other than that -- I am keeping this year a little more low key :)

Last Year -- I pre-made my album -- but I didn't keep the 'extra' stuff (embellishments, journal tags, stickers etc) all in one place -- so when I went to actually 'complete' my album, I had to scramble to find things to finish it up :)

This Year -- After I pre-made my album, I took an extra large Ziploc bag and put all my scraps from the papers I used on making the album, the embellishments I want to use, etc. -- so this year I will have all my stuff in one place that I will use on the finished project :)

Let's hope this year is better -- and that the December Daily doesn't stress me out :)

Here is a look at my pre-made album :)

Fingers crossed that this year will be BETTER :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  4. Last year was my first year, too. And it was a FAIL. HOWEVER, I am trying again. I've learned a lot about what kind of a mini book person I am, so I hope that helps! Hope to start mine this week, now that all my materials have arrived. ;-)

  10. OH WOW - I'm soooooooo PROUD of you! Yay for having another GO!! I'm onto my 4th DD and each year I've learnt something new and they've been really important lessons for a successful result. I did for the first time a pre-made DD last year - and it will be the last pre-made I'll ever do... I just kept tearing it apart every day just about - so I'm definitely a do each day girl - soooo we are all different - and you will find your way to love your DD to its finish I'm sure!

    YOU GO GIRL!

  11. You are ambitious! I did my first one last year and it was a 5x7. We are pretty low key all the time so somedays it was hard to find something to put in the book. This year I am doing the Studio Calico book and it is 4x6 so hoping it will be easier.

So far, the one for this year is my favorite, because I've learned from past mistakes. I have a mix of products put together for mine too and I think that makes it a lot more fun!! And yours looks really great! Can't wait to see it once it's all finished!!

I'm sure it wasn't as bad as you thought! But I understand how you feel! I've had some of those situations myself!
I have never done a December daily but I think I will try it this year. BUT mine will be very, very, very "watered down". I don't want to take on too much my first time!
