I promise -- it doesn't say what you think! :)

 Hi everyone!!!

Hope everyone had a good Halloween :)

Wanted to share some photos :)

Brookie was "Bat to the Bone"

Mr. Dandy was an airplane!! :)

Here are some trick or treating photos!!! Brookie was SO GOOD!!! Said "Trick or Treat," "Thank You" and "Happy Halloween" to every person she got candy from!!!! So proud of her!! :)

And NOW for the blog post title --

Soooooo as you all know... my last name is Tucker-Wolek :)

What you may NOT know is Tucker is NOT my maiden name -- it is Adam's (and his Dad's) last name - when I divorced Adam's Dad -- I told him I was keeping the name Tucker -- and it had nothing to do with wanting my ex's name... lol.... it was because I have seen some (not all...SOME) Mom's who go back to their maiden names after a divorce and so they have a different last name from their kid (or kids) --- and when someone tries to call them by their child's last name -- they get truly offended -- like, "How dare you call me THAT name!! That's his/her's Dad's name!" --- so when I divorced Adam's Dad -- I kept the name Tucker -- so that Adam never felt like he was separated from me :)

Anyhoo... that was a longggggg story --- but believe it or not -- I have a point to this :)

So the other night, the kids carved their pumpkins ....

First they drew their designs --

Then the guts came out ... lol :)

Now back to the name TUCKER :)

After Adam finished carving the faces -- he decided to carve his last name on the other side of his pumpkin... totally free hand :)

The face first ......

Now the name TUCKER ----

It LOOKS like TUCKER with the lights ON .....

But once I turned the lights off and started taking pics of the pumpkins lit up from the inside --- I realized that SOME PEOPLE just MIGHT think it says a DIFFERENT WORD .....

A certain BAD WORD *wink* :)

In real life it DOES look like TUCKER --- but through my camera lens --- NOT SO MUCH :)

Sooooo when I posted it on Facebook ... I made sure I said ... "I promise, it says "TUCKER" :)

I think Adam totally ROCKED it!!! :)

And here's hoping I didn't offend of my bloggy friends :) Trust me with the name TUCKER -- you really do have to have a sense of humor (I know ... cause I have had this name now for 17 years...and sadly...I have heard it all!!) :)

My ex-mother-in-law told me when I was pregnant with Adam --- that when his Dad was trying to learn to talk when he was a baby/toddler he couldn't say TUCKER --- and you guessed it ... the other word came out instead!! :) So happy that Adam learned to say TUCKER just right :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  2. Love, love this post, Julie! You had me smiling and laughing out loud with the whole Tucker story. I never even thought of the other word......;)
Love Brookie's sweet costume and love the kids' pumpkins! And Mr. Dandy? Tooo stinkin' cute!
And I have to say, I totally am with you about the last name thing. Pettit is not my maiden name either. But what's most important to me is having the same last name as my kiddos. :)
Hope you have a fabulous weekend, my friend!

  8. Love your entire story! Made me laugh. In my sleepy state I actually saw the word Tucker, rather than the other "bad" word lol.

Brookies costume is a little bit pretty and a little bit spooky rolled into one. And I LOVE dogs in costume. Awesome!

  11. You had me giggle Julie (no, not offended at all, but I have a 'dirty mind' altogether - although I do not show that much... I too think the photo totally rocks!)

  12. I just keep finding reasons to like you even more. I kept my ex husbands name, till I remarried, but when the kids got older they said it didn't bother them, so I changed it to my current husbands name. Keeping the kids foremost in mind during such a tough time is such an admirable choice. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't and the kids suffer that much more.

    Love ya'

Both of them did a great job with the carving...lol
I also use to have my name hyphenated for my children, dropped it after they became adults. It did make it much easier.

  19. OMG HILARIOUS!!!!

Interesting story behind your name, I never would have thought that at all... I did the same thing when I divorced my son's dad, kept his dad's last name, and for the same reason. But I didn't keep it after I re-married. I never thought about it actually. It's awesome that your husband is confident enought to not have an issue w/ it too! You got yourself a good one! :)
BTW - Brookie looks so adorable! I love her costume!!!!!! DO they have it in my size?!

  28. Julie I love the post today. I kept my first husbands name for the same reason. I didn't hyphenate it when I remarried. My boys were older and by then well I was starting to get a little tired of the whole thing. All a very very hard time. So glad that is all far behind me now.Love the pictures. Thanks for sharing your Halloween with me. Ours are very uneventful right now. Ten children came to our door.
    Hugs,

  40. Someone's probably already said...but tucker in OZ slang is 'food'...better than the other mis-saying of it, I reckon. The pumpkin's look great....so does B's dressups....guess you're the maker? Clever girly:):):)

  41. LMAO, I love how you explained. Hehe, honestly, I immediately thought Tucker when I saw it on FB. It wasn't until you said, It DOES say TUCKER that I realized some might think it said that bad word! Then again, I highly doubt that word is even in your son's vocabulary! Love the pictures!! Thanks for sharing!
