17 surgeries and still smiling....

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a layout I made mostly with Nikki Sivils Message collection!

For those that may be new to me .... Brookie was born with  Port Wine Stains on about 30% of her body -- including her face, her entire right arm, her chest and shoulders.... because of this, she has had 17 laser surgeries to 'remove' the stains from her --- she has always been pretty good about her surgeries... even though people (sadly, mostly adults) poke fun at her for what she looks like after a surgery ....

I took all her wrist bands from her surgeries and put them in the little pockets that come with this collection! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  9. Love your layout! Such a great topic and a great way to house all those bracelets. I do have a question for you- how did you decide to do this layout now and not after the next surgery or the next? Is she done with surgeries? I always struggle with how to decide when to scrap something on-going like this.

  32. I'm glad to meet her in person, she's a beautiful girl, and it is a terrible thing that adults make fun of that. She is a gift, with or without the Port Wine staines, her character is amazingly beautiful, and if I could I come over to you right away to give you all a big hug.

  33. I can't believe it's adults that poke fun! Sometimes people can be so stinkin rude! Brookie is such a beautiful little girl! And a very brave one to endure all those surgeries. I've heard they are very painful! I had a friend who had to have Port Wine stains removed too...Looove this layout! Way to do a double pager too! It's been sooooo long since I made one I don't even know if I'd know where to start! lol I love the big 17 in the title, your hidden journaling and the hospital bracelets tucked into the pockets! Fabulous!
