Dance recital!!

Hi everyone!!

Today was Brookie's dance recital -- and I was insane enough to volunteer to be a backstage Mom -- Ugh!! Never again! It was the worst! I had a crier, a child that kept calling me Miss Alicia know matter how many times I told her my name was Julie, a child that kept running from one end of the room to the other, a child that I was told to hold onto her security blanket "just in case", a child that was a total banshee... ugh... it was a mess... and I was in charge of these kids for 2 hours! I know that doesn't sound like much to some -- but I am not a good at watching a bunch of kids at once! lol!! I give total kudos to teachers and daycare workers, mama's with lots-o-kids... total kudos.. I know I could never do it! LOL!  And seriously... I must have seemed like the worst Mom backstage... all the other groups of kids with their backstage Mom's were perfect angels... only my group was crazy (except for Brookie... at least I got lucky she was in my group... I had one I knew how to handle! lol!!)..... so I am sure that the other Mom's thought I was horrible...

Here are some pics I took of Brookie all dressed up in her costume, with her hair done and makeup on!

Daddy and Brookie backstage!

And Brookie and Nana at the dress rehearsal on Friday!

And Brookie has her dance recital trophy with her too!

After the show -- Nana and Papa presented Brookie with some flowers!

Also before I head out -- I wanted to share something exciting for my AZ friends!! My friend Krista is starting an amazing class!! I have seen this album in person and it is AWESOME!! And what's even better it's being held at Phoenix Scrapbook Cottage!! I have heard some amazing things about this place!! See here for all the details!!!!

Here is Krista's album for her class --

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

  4. I'm pretty sure you were a normal mum and the rest seemed a bit odd to me - how can kids not be excited a bit out of control before a big performance!! I also struggle with lots of kids, I am constantly in admiration of teachers.

Brookie looked gorgeous BTW. Stripes, spots and frills and a cutie model - how can you go wrong??

  37. I don't know how some people do it either, Julie! It's not easy dealing with groups of kiddos. I spent one year as a kindergarten TA, and it was one tough year. :)
Brookie looked just so beautiful in her costume, and truly radiant, too. I'm so happy for her!
