Well... better luck next time....

Hi everyone...

First I want to thank all of you for the love on my new blog header! Some of you asked how I did it... well, I am so NOT a digi scrapper... have tried and failed at that task.....lol (I wish I could digi scrap like my girl Georgia!! *she is amazing at digi*!!)!! But I have found that working with Picasa makes life really easy on me! I went to my Picasa, and there is a tab at the top that says "Create" ... and in the pull down it says "Picture Collage"....and you just add your photos, you can change the size of the photos, the direction, add white frames around them like I did, or leave them blank, then once you have all your photos arranged the way you want, you can click "Create Collage" and then go back into the regular editing of Picasa and change it to look Vintage like mine, or B&W, or neon, or negative... 100's of possibilities!!! If anyone would like help - just email me at bmwgirl@cox.net and I would be happy to help you create one! Don't have Picasa??? It's free and easy to use - It's through Google - literally just Google "Picasa" and it will help you download it!

Ok...now back to my blog post title! As most of you know, I tried out for the Graphic 45 2012 Design Team call...well, today they announced their top 30 finalists, and I wasn't one of them.... but that's ok!! There is always next year, and I will try again! They are one of my FAVE companies out there, and I will try my luck again! But I do want to thank all of you that left me encouraging comments on my audition for them... I truly appreciate it! And I saw some friends names on their top 30 list... so it's all good! :)

But, while I was waiting to see if I had become a top 30 finalist... I was making Graphic 45 goodies behind the scenes (positive thinking I was! lol!) ....and I wanted to share with you what I made!!!!! So here we go.....

First I wanted to share an altered wooden box that I found at an antique store!

Here is the box I started with.....

I took it apart and then painted it....

Then I added crackle paint....

Then I added a gold paint over it all..... and here is the result of that.....

And here is the final wooden box altered with Graphic 45 papers, wine corks, small glass vials from Tim Holtz, some small wooden clips and a feather!

All my Graphic 45 goodies came from BlueMoonScrapbooking.com

The backside of the box!

My next project is some vintage wooden spools that I glued together and added some Graphic 45 papers to it and also added some Graphic 45 flowers (metal and paper) to some wires and then made a little bouquet!

And the last project I have to share today is a canvas I made!

And in case you missed how I create the background 'texture' look on my canvasses, here it is again!

First I paint my canvas, and while the paint is still wet I mist it ....

Then I take a vintage dress pattern and create my 'texture' on my canvas when it's still wet...and then I peel it off (if you don't have an old dress pattern, you can use tissue paper) --- also a tip...when I am working on all of this (including drying time when I am done), I place wax paper under it so it doesn't ruin my counter tops and it doesn't stick to anything!

And here is the end result... my 'texture'

And before I head out --- I want to say a prayer to all my friends that are in the Midwest in the midst of the tornadoes .... I pray for all your safety.....

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)
