Graphic 45 Design Team 2012 Audition

Hi everyone

Yes! You read that right in my blog post title! I am trying out for the Graphic 45 2012 design team call! (And yes! This is the BIG share I mentioned yesterday on my blog post!) I love love love their products, and if you have been following me for awhile, you know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE to create altered pieces with their papers!

So in this post, I will be sharing six projects I have made with Graphic 45 papers!  Four are brand new, never been seen on my blog before (just made them this past Saturday!) ... and two are ones that I have posted here before. I am also including a video tutorial that shows how I make my paper flowers that I have used on one of my projects!! (PS... Brookie is in the video letting you all know what I am making!) So, let's get started

My first project today is an altered wreath that I made using "Once Upon A Springtime." My all time fave Graphic 45 collection to date!  First up is my video on how I made my flowers for this project! Enjoy!

For my project... I started with this straw wreath

Then I misted it.....

And here is the end result... including the flowers that I was making in my video above

If you watched my video, you will see that I did end up inking up the edges of my paper flowers

All my Graphic 45 papers came from BlueMoonScrapbooking.com

My next project is an altered vintage film reel (yes, a real film reel! My friend cleans abandoned houses as a side job, and she found some old film reels in one of the houses, and gave them to me, as she knows I love to alter things!)

On this one I used "COMMUNIQUE Photogenic Paper"

My title on this one is "Capture the moment"

My next project is some Valentine cards and Valentine treats I made for the family :) Brian, Adam, Brookie, and my parents and my in-laws will all be getting a card and treat from me on the 12th (every Sunday we all get together for dinner, and the 12th is right before Valentine's Day, so that's the day I am choosing to give these to them)

Here are the cards for the men-

I used "A Perfect Gentleman" collection for the men's cards - and I had seen on Tesa's blog how she had taken paper strips to make a heart on her card, so she inspired me to do the same

And here are the girls cards-

On the girl's cards I used "Once Upon A Springtime" collection

And here are their Valentine treats. I took Hershey bars and covered them in "A Perfect Gentleman," "Magic of Oz," and "Domestic Goddess" papers and you get a cute Brookie pic as a back drop!

The men's treats -

And the girl's treats -

And besides Valentine's Day... February is also the month for Brian and Adam's Birthdays! So I made them both cards for their Birthday's, and I stitched on the front of their cards to hold gift cards for them-

Brian's card -

Adam's card (And PS... don't tell Adam I told you my nickname for him! Shh... it's our secret!) -

And the next project I have to share with you is a layout I made with "Once Upon A Springtime"

My next project is an altered memo board! I originally posted it HERE on my blog

Here is the memo board I started off with -

And here is what I made with it

I used the "Christmas Emporium" collection for this project

And my last project I have to share today is shadowbox books that I altered using the "Magic of Oz" collection!  You can see HERE for the original blog post, additional close ups and also I show on that post how I got the paint effect on my shadowbox/books

And I have other Graphic 45 projects also -- they are Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, Here and Here, (See...I told you I love love love Graphic 45... I use their goodies A LOT!)

So there you have it, my Graphic 45 2012 DT audition

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it! :)

Well, you know I love me some Graphic 45, since I hunted them down from a magazine ad in 2008 while at Creative Escape. Alas, I now have SEVERAL collections I am hoarding...including the Wizard of Oz (so beautiful...I want to frame the Emerald City paper all by its lonesome!!), Alice in Wonderland, Fashionista, and Tropical Travelogue (found that right after our Hawaii trip...won't be hoarding it for long!) BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, YOU DESERVE A SPOT!! The only runner up for me in hoarding is Webster's Pages...also nearly too beautiful to use ;) GO GO JULIE!!!

Thanks for stopping by again, Julie. I LOVE Graphic 45 and use it a LOT. If I had a more diversified portfolio (of G45 projects) I'd love to try out for the DT. It seems like I've made mostly ATC's, Inchies, Twinchies and cards. I need to work on some layouts and some other stuff before I feel like I'm ready to send in my application. I'd like to get ready and try next time.
