*strep throat sucks* :(

hi all....

betcha all that you thought I would NEVER have a blog title with a frown instead of Julie's signature smileys, huh???

Took Brookie to the doctors today...and she has STREP THROAT again :(:(:(  And since this is the SECOND time that she has had it in a little over a month...they took an X-ray of her throat and they are going to refer us to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist to discuss the possibility of taking out her tonsils.... this poor girl...she snores almost as loud as her Daddy (hehehehe...he's gonna kill me for that one! LOL!) and has had bad allergies since she was 6 months old...so as much as I fear yet another surgery for her... this might be the best solution :):):):):):):):):):) But the good news is... since she started her medicine today...she isn't contagious after 24 hours... and sooooooo we still will be able to TRY and visit and have fun with my BFF this weekend (she is visiting from New Jersey!!) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) Here is how my baby looked today after the doctor visit! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Hopefully she has a little more spunk tomorrow! :):):):):):):):):):) Thanks for stopping by... I appreciate it! :):):):):):):):):):):):):)

  2. Julie..throw out her toothbrush and start with a new one. In case you haven't already...I was advised to do that when my kiddos had it. I don't know...might help. Sorry for the bad news. Hope she is well soon!!!

  3. So sorry to see that Brookie doesn't feel well :((((.
When my eldest had several strep attacks, we all went to have some tests, to see maybe someone of us is a carrier of the strep (no one was, it was just a bad luck).
I do hope that Brookie won't have to go under another surgery.
The best part is that with medication she would feel better real quickly and you all be able to have fun with BFF.
Health to Brookie and have a superb weekend.
    Hugs!

  4. HI!!
oh how sad, I know how terrible this makes them feel. My oldest daughter had over 10 episodes in 1 year before they referred us to an ENT.
He immediately took the tonsils out and POOF--NO MORE STREP ever!!
So I know what it is like, they feel terrible, it just wipes them out.
Needless to say how contagious they are to everyone else.
I only got it once. I learned the symptoms so I stayed far from her face.
Give her a hug from the bloggers who understand!!
    hugs,
    jamie
    bring back the smiles!!

  6. poor baby - one of my girls was a constant round of ear infections and strep, a total mouth breather day and night until we had tonsils and adenoids taken out. made a big difference! good luck with the decision - and hope your anticipated weekend fun comes to pass.

  8. Scrappygal is right.

Hope she doesn't get it again. I had chronic strep as a kid but it was the era after people were always getting their tonsils removed.

I didn't know doctors are so quick to remove tonsils after two bouts of strep.

My son gets it on occasion, but I haven't had it since I was a kid.

    Best Wishes, Annemarie

  17. Awe, poor Brooke! I hope she feels better soon. I remember when I was a kid and had strep, it certainly sucked. Watching your kid(s) in pain is the hardest thing ever. A couple months ago my 2 lil ones had the stomach flu, it lasted about a week and it was so hard to see them so miserable. I wish for her to get well soon. :-(

  18. Awww, poor sweetie. SO sad to see her without her smiling face. Ky had his tonsils and adenoids out a year ago, and I'm afraid Ava is next, if that is any consolation. In fact, I was about to make her ENT appt myself. So you are not alone my friend. But the thought of another surgery for her....that's tough. I'll be praying it all works out for you guys. xoxoxo

  31. Oh this picture makes me sad:( I know how badly strep knocks them out. Evan has had it so often that I usually know a few days before he even gets sick now that he is getting it. He gets the worst purple circles under his eyes. Anyway, give Brookie big hugs and I hope she feels better super quick.

  32. Oh poor Brookie! I hope she feels better soon!!!! Lots of hugs!!!

The good thing about removing the tonsils is that she'll never have a sore throat ever again. Just hard for a kid to have to go through surgery though. She's such a trooper! Hope the doctor finds another solution though!

Have a great time with yout BFF!:)
